26 June, 15:00-16:00 CEST (Brussels Time)Improving patient safety and quality of care is of key importance for European citizens. The European "eHealth for Safety" study conducted by Veli Stroetmann and Jean-Pierre Thierry identified the potential benefits of complementing traditional healthcare practices with ICT solutions, and provided a fresh perspective for advanced research in this area.
It is an interactive initiative that empowers its users to discuss and influence open government, policy-making and the way in which public administrations operate and deliver services.
This progress report describes the main results of a first year of work since the publication of the eHealth Action Plan: activities undertaken by the European Commission and Member States together.
What if it were possible for every European citizen to select the precise place where they can receive that healthcare? What if they were to have the means and the information about Europe's healthcare organisations and healthcare infrastructure so as to ensure absolutely their own continuity of care?
