The move brings Kry’s UK operations together with those in Sweden, Norway and France under one brand, reflecting the group’s wider strategy to deliver a model of care that combines online consultations, physical healthcare and coordination of the patient pathway.
The name Kry means “feeling well” or “being healthy” in Swedish.
A single brand to support Kry’s European development
Across Europe, Kry now employs around 4,000 healthcare professionals. In the UK, it is an established provider of digital primary care, working alongside the NHS and with private, employer and insurer partners. Demand for Kry’s remote consultations, has grown by almost 39 percent over the past three years.“We have gone from being a Swedish digital challenger to being a major, established healthcare player across several European markets. When you operate at this scale, it is not enough simply to provide excellent care locally. It is just as important to be clear about who we are. A shared brand makes it easier to build trust and to work together across borders,” says Dr Kalle Conneryd Lundgren, CEO of Kry.
The UK: a strategic market for Kry’s hybrid model
In the UK, Kry continues to develop its hybrid model, combining digital consultations with physical care and working across NHS, employer and insurer partnerships.“The hybrid model lets us draw on experience across Europe, where the epidemiology and the expectations of clinicians are broadly the same, and apply it to the fundamental challenges facing UK primary care : access, capacity and continuity,” says Dr Tom Davis, UK Country Manager and Medical Director at Kry UK.
“It also answers what GPs are asking for. A working life with variety in it, and a balance that can flex as their careers change. That matters at a time when retaining experienced clinicians is one of the hardest problems the NHS faces.”
A European model in the face of system pressure
“Access and quality do not rest solely on having more doctors. They rest on how care is organised: combining technologies that did not exist when most health systems were designed with teamwork and proper collaboration between digital and physical services. That is how you increase capacity, bring down waiting times and make sure patients get to the right place first time,” adds Kalle Conneryd Lundgren.Kry has spent several years developing a model in Sweden where digital care and physical clinics work together as one service. That model now underpins the company’s growth in its other European markets, including the UK.
