CSW acquires software assets of H2HCare

CSW Group Ltd have acquired the software assets of H2HCare, a health IT company, specialising in the 'business of healthcare' – providing web-based billing, contracting and financial management capabilities to support effective patient care for public and private healthcare organisations.

H2HCare products will be incorporated into CSW's Case Notes product suite, extending it from an Electronic Health Record for cross-agency shared care into a complete service management system for scheduling care delivery and meeting the extended contract quality challenges in the new Commissioning environment.

Opening new markets worldwide for Europe's ICT industry: Commission launches public consultation

The Commission launched a public consultation to help strengthen the global position of Europe's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industries by ensuring access to global markets. The consultation will run until 17 September 2007 and is open to all stakeholders, including industries, research community and consumer organisations. The Commission seeks to capture stakeholder views on market access and on regulatory issues so as to refine its EU strategy for international cooperation on ICT.

Final approval of the Swiss National eHealth Strategy

The Swiss Federal Council approved the National eHealth Strategy (2007-2015) proposed by the Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA). It is in special based on the consultation report regarding the Swiss eHealth status and actions submitted by FDHA to the Federal Council in December 2006.

The Swiss National Strategy recognizes that Switzerland has an advanced eHealth level of development but in general it is on delay comparing with foreign realizations and activities in this sector.

EU project develops digital detective to take on healthcare fraudsters

As healthcare fraud across Europe reaches a staggering estimated cost of EUR 30 billion per year, an EU-funded project is developing a digital detective to investigate healthcare cheats.

The iWebcare project, which kicked off in January 2006, is a €2.3 million venture to design an information technology (IT) response to track healthcare swindles.
