Keynote Speakers show quality of World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition

Following on from the success of last year's inaugural World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition (WHIT) in Geneva, the organisers have built on that event's popularity and effectiveness to put together this year's conference at the Austria Center in Vienna, Austria, from 22–25 October 2007.

WHIT, the forum for all professions connected with healthcare IT in the EMEA region, has once again attracted speakers of the highest calibre. For example, the opening keynote address will come from Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, the chief executive officer of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).

Dr. Al Hashimi has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, gained from the United States and the United Arab Emirates. She is certain to provide valuable insights into the challenges facing healthcare IT implementation throughout the world.

Holding a doctorate in Public Health from the University of Texas, Houston, Dr. Al Hashimi's role at DHCC sees her responsible for the operational management and quality, development of education, new businesses and customer relationships.

She also oversees the resource allocation to drive consistent excellence throughout DHCC, while working closely with Dubai Healthcare City's partners at Harvard Medical International.

Following on from Dr. Al Hashimi's address will be keynote speeches across the duration of the conference from other heavyweights in healthcare, such as Dr. Hussein A. Gezairy, the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Robert M. Kolodner, MD, thenational coordinator for Health IT, Dept of Health and Human Services, USA, Richard Alvarez, president and CEO, Canada Health Infoway and Richard Granger, currently director-general of IT, at the National Health Service, UK.
