eHealth Week 2015 is Coming to Riga

eHealth Week 201511 - 13 May 2015, Riga, Latvia.
Taking place during the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, eHealth Week 2015 comprises of two main events: the High level eHealth conference organised by the Latvian Ministry of Health and the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and WoHIT (World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition) organised by HIMSS.

"In a time where eHealth solutions are no longer an option but a necessity, then nations need to come together to share best practices and knowledge so that we can advance rapidly together in transforming our healthcare systems with IT solutions. Events like eHealth week are essential to progress towards this common goal and we look forward to advancing the European eHealth agenda at eHealth week 2015 in Riga" said Minister for Health of the Republic of Latvia Ingrida Circene.

Attracting over 2500 international delegates and 100 exhibitors, the event will welcome global decision makers from public and private healthcare sectors, clinicians, hospital and IT managers and VIP guests.

Besides the two main events, the High level eHealth conference & WoHIT, then all eHealth week participants can attend a range of sessions and activities including an mHealth Symposium, an SME competition, an onsite matchmaking event, the Continua Summer Summit and a state of the art exhibition including country pavilions from all over the world.

Rainer Herzog, Managing Director, HIMSS Europe, stated that: "This is the first time eHealth week is hosted by a Baltic country and we are already experiencing great interest in the event from all over the world. We are delighted to bring so many stakeholders together as we all progress to create a future healthy Europe and we are so pleased by the warm welcome from our Latvian hosts and look forward to a very successful event in the wonderful city of Riga."
