Details
Opinion
14 August 2014
By Malcolm Senior, director of informatics at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
"Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants, so long as it is black" were the famous words by Henry Ford, one of the first to master the principles of mass production. Over a century later, you can buy a car in nearly any colour you want, complete with a range of ‘mod cons’, through a financial package tailored to your affordability.

(Opinion Article) Mobile Technology: Switching on Community Healthcare

Details
Opinion
12 May 2014
TotalMobile By Colin Reid, CEO, TotalMobile.
As care continues to shift further away from the hospital environment to a more local setting, it has never been more important to find innovative solutions to boost productivity for staff working in the community. Opinion Article: Closing the NHS Funding Gap - Dealing with Demand not Capacity

Details
Opinion
09 February 2014
IMS MAXIMSBy Angela White, Medical Director, IMS MAXIMS.

Details
Opinion
09 January 2014
CaradigmBy Dr Joel Ratnasothy, Medical Director EMEA for Caradigm.

The systems it connects are ideally 'Best of Breed' applications that manage specific clinical tasks such as medical imaging or blood sample testing. But the broader IT industry no longer talks about web portals, but it is talking about ‘big data’.

IT Adoption in the NHS: Learning from Past Lessons

Details
Opinion
02 December 2013
CaradigmBy Richard Craven, Vice-president and Managing Director, EMEA for Caradigm.
Influential politicians continue to voice very strong criticism over the cost of the National Programme for IT; but a greater concern is that the health service still does not have the information systems it needs to help clinicians improve healthcare and deliver an affordable healthcare economy in the future.

The key to delivering safe, high quality care is a knowledgeable, competent and confident workforce, yet the Francis Report shows that the NHS is struggling to ensure that staff develop and maintain the necessary skills.
