InterSystems Corporation Acquires TrakHealth

InterSystems Corporation announced it has acquired Australia-based TrakHealth. An application partner of InterSystems since 1991, TrakHealth develops and markets TrakCare, an enterprise-level web-based health information system deployed in 25 countries. TrakHealth will operate as an independent subsidiary of InterSystems, with its own sales force.

NHS Direct to make a difference to Newham residents with long term conditions

NHS Direct is delighted to be part of the successful bid that will significantly improve the lives of Newham residents coping with long term conditions (LTCs) such as: diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

The Newham project is just one of three locations in England to share £12m to demonstrate the benefits of a telecare and telehealth programme.

New USB-IF Working Group to Improve Healthcare Technology

World's First System Capable of Simultaneous Imaging of the Brain by MRI and PET

In what could prove to be a turning point in diagnosis and therapy for millions of patients suffering from neurological diseases, stroke and cancer, Siemens Medical Solutions showed a prototype for the world’s first fully-functioning imaging system capable of performing simultaneously Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Testing of this new prototype MR-PET will start before the end of 2007.
