Increasing numbers of GP surgeries across London are opting to use the iPLATO text messaging capability to increase the uptake of self screening tests for Chlamydia. The iPLATO Patient Care Messaging system is being used to support initiatives aimed at addressing the dramatic increase of the infection, which according to the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) could be affecting 1 in 10 people under the age of 25 who are sexually active.
System C has signed a five-year contract with a Wiltshire-based consortium of GPs who are pioneering government plans to bring healthcare services closer to home. Called Wilcare Health Ltd, the consortium provides services in a community setting which are more traditionally associated with acute hospitals.

This report presents case studies from 30 European countries for which validated information was available to the project by the end of November 2008.
The Peine Clinic in Lower Saxony is the first hospital in Germany to interface its angiography systems with an image management and reporting system. All data generated prior to or during an intervention in the cardiac cath lab is now automatically transferred to the new IT system. The advantage: while the examination is still in progress, operating personnel can use important examination data to prepare a report for wards or referring physicians in just a matter of minutes.
