Carestream Health has installed a PACS solution into three military hospitals in Austria to aid medical examinations for soldiers, civil servants and military attaché. The solution consists of installations at Wien-Stammersdorf in Vienna, together with hospitals at Graz and Innsbruck, all of which are linked to a central PACS archive located in Vienna.
Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) today announced that its Intel® Health Guide, a care management tool designed for healthcare professionals who manage patients with chronic conditions, is being used in the NHS Lothian telehealth programme. This 400 unit programme is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and will provide in-home care for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other chronic conditions.

Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) has published its Annual Report for 2008. In 2008, Philips Healthcare's sales amounted to EUR 7,649 million, 15% higher than in 2007 on a nominal basis, largely thanks to the contributions from acquired companies, notably Respironics. Excluding the 14% positive impact of portfolio changes and the 5% unfavorable impact of currency effects, comparable sales grew 6%.
Young European entrepreneurs will be able to spend up to six months working with an experienced entrepreneur in another EU country and learn how to better manage and grow their own business. This is the concept of "Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs", a new exchange programme financed by the European Union and launched today in all the 27 Member States.
