Diakonische Dienste Hannover to Unify IT Infrastructure in 5 Hospital Sites with Agfa HealthCare's ORBIS RIS and HIS
Agfa HealthCare announced that the German hospital group Diakonische Dienste Hannover (DDH) has selected the company's ORBIS Radiology Information System (RIS) and ORBIS Hospital Information System (HIS) solutions to unify its IT infrastructure. They will replace the existing HIS and RIS at the hospital's five sites.
Swedish pharmaceutical company Apoteket AB is extending its contract with Tieto for operation, application management and workstation solutions. The contract is valid for three years with an option of a further two years. The order value will amount to approximately EUR 43 million during the three years.
At ECR2013 Carestream will showcase a raft of new solutions designed to help radiology professionals improve patient care. These include a new portal that allows patients to electronically access and manage their X-ray exams; new lesion management tools that can help enhance accuracy in assessing changes in cancerous lesions and as a works-in-progress, a smaller-format digital radiography detector that provides high-quality, dose-sensitive X-ray images for paediatric, orthopaedic and general radiology exams.
Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) released its "Meaningful Innovation Index", during its participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The Meaningful Innovation Index is a 5000-person, multi-country survey looking at people's needs, attitudes and expectations regarding innovation. Based on responses from five key markets(1), the survey shows that even with the recent advances in technology, there is huge appetite for innovations that will make a real difference in people's everyday lives.
