Apoteket Renews Contract with Tieto

TietoSwedish pharmaceutical company Apoteket AB is extending its contract with Tieto for operation, application management and workstation solutions. The contract is valid for three years with an option of a further two years. The order value will amount to approximately EUR 43 million during the three years.

Tieto has been Apoteket's main IT service provider since 2007. In 2011, Tieto was charged with managing a new centralised business system and a new store solution for all of Apoteket AB's 350 stores.

"We've worked together for many years, and I'm certain that our partnership will continue to develop. We see Tieto as an excellent partner, offering future-oriented solutions that are in line with our IT strategy of benefiting from new technical possibilities, such as cloud services," says Elisabeth Stjernstoft, CIO at Apoteket.

The extended contract term means that Tieto will continue to manage operation, application management for the store solution, business systems and integration platforms, along with Apoteket's IT workstations. What is new is that Tieto will also be taking over the architecture office for integrations.

"We're naturally delighted that our contract with Apoteket has been extended. During the work we've done together so far, we've maintained a close dialogue and been open to Apoteket's needs and challenges, which I believe was a factor in them extending the contract. We look forward to supporting Apoteket, now and in the future, by providing technical solutions that help to constantly streamline their operations," says Gun-Marie Rinaldo, customer executive at Tieto.
