The ICT 2008 Exhibition intends to show concrete results of research in and around Europe related to information and communications technologies. This call for exhibition ideas is open to any organisation involved in European research and development as well as deployment projects and associated support activities.

This conference provided a first overview and introduction to all the reasons why the European Commission is beginning to explore the possibilities for a future action plan for Europe on telemedicine. It would be published in the context of a Commission Communication.
Throughout 2006/07 the NHS has introduced new computer systems and services to improve how information is stored and shared in the NHS. This new information technology (IT) provides opportunities for the health service to make changes and deliver better, safer care for patients. Supporting better, safer care is the main aim of the National Programme. The National Programme has a number of key projects. Each has its own purpose and contributes to the overall goal of linking a patient's health information together, helping those providing them with care.
In December 2003, the citizens of Denmark were offered a better overview of the health sector as well as information about health, medicine, illnesses and their prevention. For the first time, the Portal brings together the entire Danish health service on the Internet, making this the electronic way for patients, their families and healthcare professionals to obtain information, communicate and maintain an overview. It has been designed to inform citizens of health-related issues and ensure the quality and efficiency of work processes within and between various parts of the healthcare sector.
The World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition (WoHIT) Organizing Committee welcomes the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI) as a new member for the 2008 Conference. The conference will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on Nov. 4-6, 2008. The EFMI supports healthcare informatics and all disciplines concerned with healthcare and informatics; 30 countries are now members of the organisation.
