Agfa-Gevaert today announced its first quarter results. Group sales amounted to 753 million Euro. In local currency, sales remained stable despite the continuous impact of the strong Euro, which affected the Group's competitive position, especially in the healthcare markets. European Doctors Catch the eHealth Bug

The majority of European doctors have caught the information technology (IT) bug, according to a new Europe-wide survey on e-health. In total, 87% of European doctors now use a computer in their practices, while 69% have an internet connection. However, lack of training, inadequate technical support and maintenance costs are preventing a wider take-up of e-health applications across Europe.

Benchmarking ICT use among General Practitioners in Europe

This report presents the outcomes of the "Pilot on eHealth Indicators" study, carried out by empirica in association with IPSOS on behalf of the European Commission, Information Society and Media Directorate-General. The data used for this report were collected by means of a survey of primary care physicians and their use of ICT for eHealth purposes. The survey was carried out in all 27 Member States of the European Union and in Norway and Iceland in 2007.

CardOS HealthCare Connector from Siemens Healthcare

During the ongoing "10.000er-Tests" for the electronic health card in Germany, more than 80 percent of all participating hospitals, doctors' offices and pharmacies in the test regions are using the CardOS HealthCare Connector from Siemens Healthcare. New FP7 eHealth Project - COMOESTAS

COMOESTAS aims to develop an innovative ICT system that allows patients with Medication Overuse Headache (MOH), a common condition and a major cause of disability, to receive continuous and personalised treatment. The system will be based on an advanced Alerting and Decision Support System that follows patients from the diagnosis and supports the physician in managing the therapy, controlling relevant events impacting on patient safety.
