Partnership Aims to Save NHS Millions with Retail Tech

Technology used by retail giants ranging from Tesco to Argos could now save the NHS millions of pounds, as a result of a new partnership between NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) and British technology company Virtualstock. NHS SBS, a Department of Health joint venture with Sopra Steria, has already saved the NHS hundreds of millions of pounds since it was set up in 2005.

Call for Tender: Innovative Post-Stroke Tool

The European pre-commercial procurement MAGIC project has launched its call for tender to find suppliers who can develop and test solutions to improve stroke recovery, home-based rehabilitation and to empower stroke patients following hospital discharge. A UNC School of Medicine dermatologist recently conducted a study to determine if the way a prescription was written - either traditionally or electronically - played a role in whether a patient filled and picked up the medication. In the study, published in JAMA Dermatology, Adewole S. Adamson, MD, assistant professor of dermatology, found that the way a prescription was written could influence whether a patient filled the prescription.
