Philips Partners with the Stockholm County Council and Karolinska University Hospital to Meet Future Demands of Health Care
Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with the Stockholm County Council (SCC) to jointly innovate in health care. This comprises R&D, an innovation program and education, and the procurement, installation, maintenance, upgrading and replacement of most of the medical imaging equipment for the new hospital site for Karolinska in Solna, Sweden for a 14-year term. 
Sekoia, an open software platform for applications in the welfare area, will be presented to the public at conhIT 2014. In very short time Sekoia has turned a market out of supporting nursing homes and similar institutions from Denmark with a flexible assisted living platform. The main approach was to simplify and ease the daily life of workers and inhabitants in all types of care homes from the country. 
Carers UK and Tunstall Healthcare UK have announced an exciting new partnership - with a forward thinking programme to make life better for carers. The partnership brings together 100 years combined experience of supporting families caring for loved ones and will be focused on providing innovative, technology based solutions for a growing social issue.
