Open Software Platform for Ambient Assisted Living at conhIT 2014

Sekoia ApSSekoia, an open software platform for applications in the welfare area, will be presented to the public at conhIT 2014. In very short time Sekoia has turned a market out of supporting nursing homes and similar institutions from Denmark with a flexible assisted living platform. The main approach was to simplify and ease the daily life of workers and inhabitants in all types of care homes from the country.

Sekoia implements an open software platform for ambient assisted living by rethinking how care homes work, the added value is based on apps supporting the aged and their helpers. In customization these handle the different needs from daily tasks and activities to communication, rehabilitation, telemedicine and other social or healthcare needs.

"In the first year Sekoia has achieved great results by moving 33% time from the offices back to the people, also cutting the amount of unforced significant events more than 50%. This generally means less paper work, more giving the right medicine and working the care charm. Sekoia aims at letting software do the boring work, when people are clearly best suited taking care of other people. This is supported by the fact that sickness absence has dropped 32% due to lowered stress levels among the staff," mentioned Troels Nilsson, co-founder and partner of Sekoia ApS

Today Sekoia has more than a few million operational hours down, leading the market. With the injection from Nupark Accelerace the company intends to excel and push for similar markets and countries nearby.
