Workshop: explaining the Seventh Framework Programme (UK)

Agfa HealthCare selected by Helse Vest to integrate RIS/PACS solutions in Vestlandet region, Norway

The Helse Vest – Western Norway Regional Health Authority has contracted Agfa HealthCare, along with partner eCare, to integrate patient radiology information from 15 private and public hospitals in the region, which together perform some 800,000 radiology examinations per year. The order confirms Agfa HealthCare's standing as a leading integrator of imaging and information flows in healthcare.

Computation modelling to be at the heart of Europe's new healthcare model, hears conference

A new healthcare model in Europe based on preventive and personalised health systems is needed in Europe and can only be achieved using information and communication technologies (ICT), the European Commissioner for Information society and Media, Viviane Reding, told participants at the "ICT for Biomedical Sciences 2006" conference in Brussels on 29 June. Computational simulation and modelling were cited as cornerstones to this new model.
