The aim of "eHealth Europe 2007 - From Strategies to Applications" is to present the myriad telematics activities carried out by the Member States of the EU, with focus on the benefits to be gained by their application. The objective is to identify solutions for cross-border, interoperable processes and Europe-wide electronic services and to present and discuss the preparatory activities conducted by our European partners in this field.
The report finds that the European and the US biotechnology industries both have around 2000 companies, but the US sector employs nearly twice as many people, spends around three times as much on research and development, has twice the number of employees involved in research and development, raises over twice as much venture capital, and has access to 10 times as much debt finance. It earns twice as much revenue.
