Successful Debut for DMEA - Connecting Digital Health

9 - 11 April 2019, Berlin, Germany.
Attended by some 10,800 visitors, 570 exhibitors and 350 speakers, after three days DMEA, Europe's leading event for digital health, came to a successful conclusion. Featuring new interactive formats with a wider range of topics and targeting a larger audience, the successor to conhIT was able to reposition itself as the platform for digital healthcare.

Siemens Healthineers and Heart Center in Portugal Partner for Improved Care Continuum

The Hospital da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa (Red Cross Hospital) in Lisbon and Siemens Healthineers have signed a ten-year partnership agreement for the new heart center. The heart center will focus on the full cardiovascular continuum - prevention, early detection, treatment and follow-up of cardiovascular diseases, aiming at being one of the most modern in Portugal.

Text Messages Show Promise as Next Step for Improving Heart Health in China

Motivational text messages are a well-liked, feasible new way to provide additional support to Chinese patients with heart disease, reports a preliminary study by researchers at Yale and in China. However, the study did not prove that these targeted text messages led to an improvement in blood pressure control amongst the recipients, the intended outcome.

First Bacterial Genome Created Entirely with a Computer

All the genome sequences of organisms known throughout the world are stored in a database belonging to the National Center for Biotechnology Information in the United States. As of today, the database has an additional entry: Caulobacter ethensis-2.0. It is the world's first fully computer-generated genome of a living organism, developed by scientists at ETH Zurich.
