System C Launches Benefits Identification and Delivery Service

System C Healthcare plcSystem C has launched a range of services to help NHS Trusts identify and deliver benefits from new and existing IT applications. Called BenefitsPLUS, System C's new service is available in a number of forms ranging from a low-cost fixed price benefits identification package through to a complete end-to-end benefits management and delivery service.

It is targeted at Trusts looking to get the most out of existing IT systems, as well as Trusts which are preparing business cases for new investment.

BenefitsPLUS is built on System C's extensive experience of healthcare IT deployment and process redesign. It models the benefits that can be expected from the use of IT in various settings and matches them against trust processes. The result is localised benefits planning based on national experience.

Damian Pearce, a service delivery director at System C, explained that the company recognised the huge pressure the NHS was under to deliver new output targets at the same time as making significant efficiency gains. "Many organisations can unlock hundreds of thousands or even millions of pounds through improved management of benefits.

"Technology and solutions are simply the enablers of improvement. We can provide additional service improvement and delivery expertise, with substantial hands-on experience of other sites, to ensure that these benefits are successfully delivered."

System C's BenefitsPLUS model analyses seven categories of benefit: cash releasing, time-saving, clinical, litigation risk, statutory, strategic and patient experience. It also quantifies 'dis-benefits' such as financial and management costs and demands on users' time. v BenefitsPLUS harnesses System C's extensive service design and deployment expertise. The company's service improvement specialists have an average 15 years in healthcare IT and significant clinical experience behind them, and have assisted with literally hundreds of go-lives. BenefitsPLUS is intentionally scaleable so that short engagements can be completed at low cost with further work only being completed if significant benefits are identified.

System C's product experience includes Millennium, RiO, iPM, iCM, TPP, Lorenzo, as well as the company's own Medway software and a wide range of departmental systems.

Application experience includes PAS, results, orders, theatres, A&E, pathology, SAP, prescribing, pharmacy, care pathways, reporting and clinical data collection.
