The image reviewing and archiving system from Siemens

SIEMENSSiemens Medical Solutions advanced its image reviewing and archiving system for cardiology even further and added new levels of efficiency to clinical processes. It is now possible to create evidence-based reports with syngo Dynamics. The physician is able to supplement his own clinical experience with the best treatment results from medical research. Additionally, syngo Dynamics enables physicians to compare reports from different specialties within the clinic at a single, common workplace, expediting diagnostic efforts.

With the new version of its dynamic image reviewing and archiving system, syngo Dynamics 6.0, Siemens Medical Solutions effectively contributes to the greater efficiency of clinical processes. A good example is reporting according to the concept of evidence-based medicine. Using syngo Dynamics 6.0, the physician is able to take into account the current status of scientifically supported medicine based on clinical studies as well as to ensure that the diagnostic methods used or the therapy selected correspond to current medical knowledge or that the effects of the medication subscribed have been proven.

Another new feature of syngo Dynamics 6.0 is the system's multimodality. This means that images and data from different sources (modalities) can be shown side-by-side on the same monitor. This means that, effective immediately, the physician no longer has to change workstations or work with print-outs, when he wants to, for example, compare a patient's examination results from the cath lab with those from the echo lab.

"Syngo Dynamics 6.0 allows for immediate access to cardiology and ultrasound studies and reports at diagnostic workstations from every department connected to the hospital network", explains Ajit Singh, head of the Image and Knowledge Management division at Siemens Medical Solutions. "As a result, physicians, radiology technicians, and administrative personnel are able to optimize their workflows from checking the examination to diagnosing findings."

Another highlight of syngo Dynamics V6.0 is the real-time data transfer to and from Axiom Sensis XP by Siemens, a modern interventional recording system for cardiology and electrophysiology.
