Siemens Introduces Clinical Image Sharing System

Siemens HealthcareSiemens Healthcare has announced the availability of syngo.share, a unified, patient-centric clinical image sharing system. syngo.share empowers hospitals to efficiently manage and share clinical imaging data, including many non-DICOM formats, across multiple specialities such as Radiology, Endoscopy, Pathology and Dermatology.

"syngo.share enables clinicians to gain a comprehensive overview of clinical imaging data, regardless of the format, plus share it with colleagues across different departments or disciplines," states Ronan Kirby, syngo Business Manager at Siemens Healthcare. "With imaging data available in one location, hospitals will benefit from increased efficiency as the need to search for information is removed. The system's patient-centric approach will also improve communications across the care continuum."

syngo.share is a versatile, general purpose, clinical image sharing system with a universal viewer to help clinicians manage a vast array of clinical imaging data. It provides convenient access to imaging data in one location, connecting departmental archives, even across multiple locations, thus supporting the entire clinical care pathway of the patient. syngo.share also supports cross vendor connectivity so the user can work with installed archiving solutions and protect their investment.

The system features a modular and scalable architecture that allows customers to pick from departmental and enterprise-wide, up to regional sharing deployments, providing an IHE-XDS and XDS-I compliant repository. Its multimedia archive capabilities support data formats including JPEG, avi or PDF, extending existing Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) such as syngo.plaza.
