The University of Oxford is seeking a committed and enthusiastic post-foundation stage clinician with an interest in community-based care, to drive forward an emerging area of clinically-focussed translational research.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator of the research study, you will be a member of a research group with responsibility for carrying out aspects of a series of related studies intended to develop new clinical pathways based on digital technologies that follow patients across both hospital and community settings.

The role will include recruiting and monitoring COPD patients and others with long-term conditions in hospital and at home, testing a clinical model for monitoring patients that can be scaled up for a large clinical trial, project management and administration, data analysis, presentation of finding and contributing to drafting papers.

You will have a medical degree and be registered with the GMC, with clinical skills and competence appropriate to current trainee level and a strong commitment to undertaking clinical research and writing research papers. Excellent communications and IT skills are also required.

The post is available full-time for 3 years. (The department will work with the successful candidate to facilitate a maintained clinical commitment.)
