InterSystems Placed in Magic Quadrant for Global Enterprise EHR Systems

InterSystemsInterSystems, a global leader in software for connected care, has been positioned in the Visionaries quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant for Global Enterprise electronic health record (EHR ) Systems.(1) The InterSystems TrakCare™ Web-based, unified healthcare information system was reviewed by Gartner for this report.

"With rising pressure to cut healthcare costs, while enhancing the quality of care, private and government-owned healthcare delivery organisations (HDOs) are increasingly implementing clinical automation solutions, especially enterprise EHR systems," according to Gartner. "We believe that integrated EHRs will prevail, but it will take time," Gartner observed. In addition, the analyst firm pointed out that "HDOs seeking an enterprise EHR system have qualitatively better options to choose from today than previously."

Vendors were evaluated based on their vision and ability to execute in the global market, according to the report.

TrakCare's market presence includes installations in more than 25 countries, including the U.K., Italy, the Gulf region, India, China, Thailand, Australia, Brazil and Chile. It is not offered in the United States. TrakCare is being used in a wide range of initiatives by leading healthcare organisations. Typical examples include nationwide implementations in Scotland and Chile, state-wide implementations in Victoria, Australia and Brasilia, Brazil and organisation-wide implementations at Bangkok Dusit Medical Services in Thailand, Manipal Hospitals in India and Albert Einstein Hospital in Brazil. TrakCare is a multi-language, multi-currency system that is uniquely adaptable to varying healthcare delivery approaches and comes pre-configured for local markets.

"TrakCare combines a full range of clinical, administrative, lab, and community care capabilities with a unified data repository to provide a complete patient record that is accessible to authorised healthcare professionals from any location via the Web. As a result, patient information can be shared securely and seamlessly across the healthcare enterprise to support improved care delivery, increased efficiency and lower costs," said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems Vice President of Strategic Planning. "We are gratified that Gartner, Inc. has recognised InterSystems in this new Magic Quadrant report."
