BridgeHead Software Partners with Capita Healthcare Decisions

BridgeHead SoftwareBridgeHead Software, the Healthcare Data Management (HDM) specialist, and Capita Healthcare Decisions, the leading provider of clinical decision software and managed services for health, announce a partnership. BridgeHead and Capita can now offer new and existing customers a healthcare platform as a service for BridgeHead's Healthcare Data Management (HDM) Solution, enabling hospitals to effectively store, protect and share their healthcare data in a secure, scalable N3 accredited UK data centre.

Currently being rolled-out by a multi-site, tier one private healthcare provider in the UK, the combined Capita and BridgeHead Software HDM service lets healthcare providers intelligently manage and protect a wide array of healthcare data, from all manner of hospital applications, both clinical and administrative.

BridgeHead Software's HDM is a scalable, modular environment designed to help hospitals to manage and protect the data throughout their organisations. BridgeHead HDM provides a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) for DICOM images (the image standard for radiology images). BridgeHead's VNA is unique in that it can handle all types of image and video data from multiple ologies. BridgeHead HDM also offers full back up and archive for all administrative data found within healthcare environments such as medical scanned patient documents, patient notes, emails, PDFs and other office type files. BridgeHead HDM helps organisations eliminate data silos from disparate departments and streamline the IT management and support required to make the data available to clinical and administrative staff at the point of need.

The healthcare managed service, provided by Capita, is powered by state-of-the-art dedicated UK healthcare data centres and are accredited to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and IGSoC. Capita's highly secure N3 connected infrastructure creates opportunities for healthcare organisations to locate shared services on a highly resilient, affordable infrastructure managed by specialists with 24x7 support from a highly experienced team.

HDM as a service is available from both Capita or BridgeHead Software, with flexible options dependant on whether a Trust requires a fully-managed, hosted application service or, more simply, a copy of its data in the cloud.

Jim Beagle, CEO, BridgeHead Software comments: "This is a partnership in the truest sense of the word - one based on trust, agility, flexibility and openness. We genuinely believe that the two organisations have a very compelling healthcare data management service that can help hospitals control storage costs, whilst ensuring data is effectively shared and protected, positively impacting patient care."

Richard Atkins, sales director, Capita Healthcare Decisions, comments: "Capita partners with best-of-breed vendors who are at the top of their game. In the healthcare data management space, BridgeHead is one of the leaders in its field. Today, we are seeing more and more application vendors configuring their applications for a managed service. We are also seeing managed services featuring more frequently in the tenders to which we are responding. The implications of costs, increased security requirements, better access and sharing of patient data will expedite adoption of this type of service within the UK healthcare space."
