HIMSS Europe Governing Council Call for Nominations for Three Vacancies

HIMSS EuropeThe HIMSS Europe Governing Council invites nominations for three vacancies (FY2014-FY2016 Term) on the HIMSS Governance Council for a three year term to begin on 1 July, 2013 and end 30 June, 2016. Submissions must be submitted no later than 7 June 2013.

Nomination Guidelines
For each nomination, the following are requested:

  • A letter from the individual who is submitting the nomination, detailing his/her reasons for the nomination and describing his/her potential contributions to the Governing Council and to HIMSS
  • A current CV or short biography of the nominee
  • Information about memberships, affiliations, volunteer activities etc. in the field of eHealth and other relevant fields. This information can be provided in the letter, in the CV, or on a separate sheet.
  • Proof of HIMSS membership (i.e. your member number)

About HIMSS Europe
In 2006, HIMSS began to operate in Europe, offering dedicated programmes for the region, including its flagship initiative, the annual World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition / eHealth week event, organised with the European Commission and other European partners. In June 2008, HIMSS opened the European office in Brussels and expanded its educational programmes and initiatives for the region. New members of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council will therefore make their contribution at an exciting time in the young history of the Europe initiative.

About the Governing Council
The purpose of the HIMSS Europe Governing Council is to serve as the governing body for HIMSS Europe: Determine strategic direction for HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe; Provide content expertise; Maintain programme oversight of the activities of HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe; Appoint member-based work groups who have delegated responsibility to assist management in the execution of operational strategies and tactics (e.g., WoHIT, CIO Summit, membership, educational programmes, etc); Support the development and promotion of other HIMSS Europe and HIMSS Analytics Europe products and services; Develop governance roles, procedures and practices to ensure an effective governance and oversight body.

The Council are representatives of the different countries, regions, constituencies and skills relevant to HIMSS Europe. Selections will therefore be made both on the basis of individual qualifications as well as of the general balances sought.
