British Flag to Fly High at REHACARE 2012

UKTIUK companies are set to be one of the main attractions at the world's largest assistive technologies and rehabilitation exhibition next month. 17 UK companies which are at the centre of cutting-edge solutions within the assistive technologies industry will be exhibiting their products on the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) sponsored Pavilion at REHACARE 2012 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The exhibition, which takes place from 10-13 October at Messe Düsseldorf, is the most important trade fair in the world for rehabilitation, prevention, integration and care.

Attracting over 50,000 visitors annually, REHACARE is seen as the ideal stepping stone for companies looking to expand globally and to meet potential new partners, with large numbers of distributors, purchasing authorities and end-users attending the show.

UKTI - through the British Consulate in Düsseldorf - will be proactively working to support UK companies wanting to access the rehabilitation market, with the assistance of MedilinkUK, the organisation dedicated to the growth of the Healthcare Technologies and Life Sciences sector.

The profile of the United Kingdom, following the recent Paralympic Games in London, is expected to see the interest in the UK Pavilion be even higher than previous years.

Charlotte Fraser, UKTI Regional Sector Specialist and International Manager for Medilink, said: "The phenomenal success of the Paralympic Games in London has brought the assistive and rehabilitive technologies sector into sharp focus, with UK companies at the forefront of the development of innovative new products and services.

"This year we have 17 companies on the Pavilion as part of a wider UK presence and we hope that visitors find the opportunity to see for themselves why so many UK companies are at the cutting edge of this market."

The UK companies design and manufacture a wide range of technologies. One of the innovations being launched at this year’s exhibition is a pioneering solution from Dynamic Controls which gives electric wheelchair users vastly improved load performance - the LiNX Power Control System.

The LiNX Power Control System will give users easier chair operation and turning on carpeted surfaces, as well as greater hold and stability on sloping surfaces.

Charlotte Walshe, CEO of Dynamic Controls, said: "Our products represent major technological advances in power mobility that will fundamentally change the quality of life for people requiring assisted living.

"Our aim is to enable users to lead a full and active part in society, so we are looking forward to showcasing our ground-breaking innovations at Rehacare 2012 and speaking to potential business partners around the world."
