AHIMA International Increases Presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Middle East

AHIMA 14 December 2020, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) International and ACCUMED announced today they will host OPERATION: HEALTH Beta Version on Dec. 14, 2020. The meeting was originally slated to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) this December, but instead a preview version will take place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to OPERATION: HEALTH Beta Version, AHIMA International also announced it will host a session at the Global Health Exhibition by Informa on December 9, 2020, from 4:30-5 p.m. Riyadh time. This virtual meeting will feature participants from Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries. AHIMA International’s session will focus on best practices for clinical documentation integrity (CDI), coding, billing, and revenue cycle management.

"I'm so pleased AHIMA International is forming relationships in Saudi Arabia, as we work to reach health information professionals, organizations, and industry leaders around the world," said AHIMA CEO Wylecia Wiggs Harris, PhD, CAE.

Christina Roosen, vice president of AHIMA International, said OPERATION: HEALTH will feature both international and local speakers. "We are excited to launch the preview version of OPERATION: HEALTH," she said. "Our vision for this event is to bring relevant and actionable regional information for improving healthcare delivery through quality health information and analytics."

Speakers at OPERATION: HEALTH will address a number of critical topics, including improving end-to-end healthcare results through health information management; CDI; coding; reimbursement; liquidity; and revenue cycle management. Attendees can earn up to five continuing education credits, with additional credits available through workshop participation.

Harris will deliver a keynote address at OPERATION: HEALTH, as will Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA, president and CEO of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and Russ Branzell, the CEO and president of the College of Healthcare Information Executives (CHIME).

Dr. Ayham Refaat, founder and CEO of ACCUMED, the official education partner for OPERATION: HEALTH Beta Version, shared his thoughts regarding the upcoming event. "We are happy to have AHIMA as our partners in this initiative and excited that the inaugural soft launch version will start from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a country where the government and its benevolent leaders have prioritized healthcare as one of the strong pillars in their 2030 Vision," Refaat said.

AHIMA and ACCUMED are grateful for the event's global partners: HFMA, CHIME International, The Arab Hospital Magazine, and Health Podcast Network.
