The Startup Café, the Place where Healthcare IT Decision-Makers and New Companies can Meet

conhIT 201817 - 19 April 2018, Berlin, Germany.
Whether they develop apps that detect the early stages of cardiac arrhythmia or cybersecurity software for hospitals, startups in the healthcare IT sector are flexible, highly innovative and can make a significant contribution to digitalising the healthcare system. Often however, new companies do not have the necessary connections. That is where conhIT - Connecting Healthcare IT comes in with its new format, the Startup Café.

The Startup Café, which can be found at conhIT, the industry event that takes place from 17 to 19 April 2018 in Berlin, is targeting new and innovative startups in the early stages of their development, which are offering forward-looking products and processing methods in health IT. A dedicated display area is being set up where new companies can present their portfolio to industry experts, investors, venture partners and incubators and establish contact with potential business partners in an informal atmosphere over a cup of coffee.

This move by conhIT is in keeping with the latest trend. More and more established healthcare companies are focusing on collaboration with new companies. Dr. Markus Müschenich, managing partner of the digital health incubator Flying Health and member of the conhIT Congress advisory committee, knows why this is: "Startups are essential for moving our health industry forward. New companies are not burdened by the past, and in their quest for better solutions are able to create new products for tomorrow's medical world. Collaborating with established players makes sense in order to be able to market these products. However, both partners can only benefit if they cooperate on equal terms. Being a small company is by no means a sign of weakness."

With an outstanding audience of experts and with decision-makers making up around 80 per cent of visitors, conhIT is the right place to head for startups in order to present their ideas. According to Lars Grieten, CEO of the Belgian startup FibriCheck, conhIT is the fastest-growing industry event where startups can obtain an immediate feedback.
