Conference on academia-industry cooperation

Germany Presidency of the EUA conference entitled "European Researchers of Tomorrow - Crossing the Borders of Academia and Industry" will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, from 13 to 15 May 2007.

The aim of the conference is to highlight the importance of the promotion of young researchers for Europe and to effectively document and increase Europe's attractiveness for scientific talent. The focus will be on cooperation between science and industry.

The main goal is to identify successful approaches already used in the promotion of young scientists through cooperation between companies, universities and research institutions; to describe conceivable models for future cooperation; and to suggest possible ways for including these models in EU funding.

The conference is organised in the framework of the Germany Presidency of the EU.

The conference will be opened officially by the Federal Minister for Education and Research, Dr. Annette Schavan, the European Commissioner for Research, PhD Janez Potočnik and the Research Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Prof. Dr. Peter Frankenberg.
