Health and FP7: Opportunities for UK participants

The UK's FP6 National Contact Point is holding a series of three workshops around the country to discuss opportunities for collaborative research and development in the field of health in the forthcoming Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

The dates and locations for the three workshops are:

  • 30 November, London;
  • 1 December, Nottingham;
  • 5 December, Edinburgh.

Speakers from the European Commission, DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and UK National Contact Points will describe the form of the forthcoming FP7 and will focus on the new thematic programme on health. A brief overview of the 'Rules for Participation' will be given and there will be ample opportunities for questions and networking.

The London and Edinburgh events will also look at the health-related parts of the 'Information Communication Technologies' (ICT) programme in FP7 (previously known as the 'Information Society Technologies' (IST) programme). The Nottingham event will offer an insight into the health-related components of the 'Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies' programme and review the relevant Technology Platforms for health and nanotechnology.

These events are intended for future applicants from academia, companies both large and small and public authorities. There will be ample opportunities to network and speak directly with the Commission, DTI and UK National Contact Point team.
