Science, research and EU membership, Istanbul

A conference on science and research in the context of Turkey's accession to the EU will take place in Istanbul on 8 September.

EU Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik will open the conference, which is aimed at private sector representatives, universities and research centres.

The event will include a panel discussion on using science, technology and innovation competence as ways to improve competitiveness. Giancarlo Caratti from the EU's Joint Research Centre (JRC) will take part in the discussion.
