EMIS and BMJ Informatica Join Forces for iSoft GPs

EMISEMIS - the UK's market leading provider of software to GPs - has signed an agreement with BMJ Informatica to offer its FrontDesk and Contract+ products free of charge to CSC users for 12 months when they migrate to EMIS Web. It is part of a free package of assistance to CSC users who place an order for EMIS Web by 31 December 2012.

The news follows the announcement by CSC last month that it is withdrawing its GP systems from the market by 2013/14. GPs currently 'bolt on' the FrontDesk appointments and Contract+ QOF management products to their core clinical system.

EMIS Managing Director Neil Laycock said: "It's important for GPs and their patients that the switch to EMIS Web is as easy as possible. These are two popular products from Informatica, and we know that CSC users rely on them for the smooth-running of their practice.

"We are confident that GPs who switch to EMIS Web will very quickly appreciate the benefits of our own appointments and QOF management systems. Over 1,000 practices are now using our transformational healthcare system, with more switching all the time."

Vanessa Edmonds, Managing Director of BMJ Informatica, said "We are delighted that EMIS are supportive and have put this package offer to Synergy, Premiere and Ganymede users. Keeping FrontDesk and Contract+ will provide continuity to practices who are being forced to make a system change at a time when there are so many other pressures on GPs."
