The Italian Association for People with Rheumatic Diseases (A.P.MA.R.) has announced the successful launch in Italy of the advanced mobile Application Software (App) for people with rheumatoid arthritis, named the Rheumatoid Arthritis App. A.P.MA.R.’s project has been developed by SB Soft s.r.l., with scientific support from Dr. Marilena Serra, Rheumatologist, Vito Fazzi Hospital of Lecce and Dr. Tiziana Nava, President GIS Rheumatology -AIFI (Italian Association of Physiotherapists) and made possible with a contribution from MSD Italy.

Ms. Antonella Celano, president of A.P.MA.R., said: "This stunning App is going to simplify the management of rheumatoid arthritis, and it works as a real electronic assistant by reminding the drugs, medical examinations, laboratory tests and other useful information to keep under control this debilitating illness."

The Rheumatoid Arthritis App has a user-friendly diary interface that can, quickly and timely, advise to take all the planned steps, thus empowering the patient's decisions. The App is downloadable, free of charge, in versions for Android, Windows Mobile and iTunes. News on rheumatic disease can be as well received thanks to the additional, integrated functionalities. The Rheumatoid Arthritis App is also able to recommend the nearest rheumatology centre in Italy by using a complex synchronization interface with existing A.P.MA.R.'s data bases.
