CSC (NYSE: CSC) has made two new key appointments to its UK healthcare team. Paul Shannon has been named Medical Director and will be a key interface to NHS clinicians using CSC services. Andy Hall has been appointed Sales Director and will be responsible for leading the growth of new business within CSC's UK healthcare business. 
Hitachi Consulting United Kingdom has completed the delivery of a significant online portal project for Commissioning Support for London (CSL). The creation of the new secure online portal provides National Health Service (NHS) commissioners with access to a set of tools to help them monitor how their providers are performing. 
Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) and bioMérieux (NYSE Euronext: BIM) today announced that they have signed an agreement to jointly develop fully automated handheld diagnostic testing solutions for hospital use that can be deployed at the point-of-care - i.e. close to the patient. The collaboration aims to improve diagnosis and management of disease in critical care settings within hospitals (for example, Emergency Departments, Coronary Units and Intensive Care Units (ICUs)). 
GE Healthcare, a unit of GE (NYSE:GE), and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) have expanded their sales and marketing agreement for the Intel Health Guide to include the United Kingdom. GE Healthcare already markets the Intel Health Guide in the United States.
