Agfa HealthCare will highlight its comprehensive IMPAX Cardiovascular suite of products at the EuroPCR congress, the official congress of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), from May 21-24, in Paris, France. The focus will be on demonstrating how IMPAX Cardiovascular delivers the benefits of digital cardiology to the cardiologist's fingertips.

Agfa HealthCare's revenue remained almost stable versus last year's first quarter. Excluding currency effects, the business group posted a slight revenue increase. In the IT segment, both the Imaging IT business and the Enterprise IT business performed strongly. The segment posted strong growth figures in North America, Latin America and the North of Europe.

European Commission Vice-President Neelie Kroes has awarded prizes to eHealth SMEs from Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and United Kingdom as part of eHealth Week 2013 in Dublin, Ireland. The winners of the 2nd EU SME eHealth Competition came up with innovations in areas such as improving cognitive behavioural therapy for mental care, improving physiological monitoring, and people facing emergencie.

Following an extensive and lengthy procurement process, Carestream has been awarded the contract to supply CARESTREAM Vue RIS and Vue PACS to Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ), the largest of the four Regional Health Authorities in Norway. The contract spans eight years and the first phase of installations will extend to five Trusts.

East Cheshire NHS Trust is to partner with HCS, to help drive forward the development of integrated care across Eastern Cheshire's Health and Social Care system. The HCS Care Coordination service will provide expert assistance to the Trust to support the delivery of integrated care as a key partner in Eastern Cheshire's Caring Together Programme, which aims to commission and deliver patient-centred joined up, pro-active care services.

The partnership between medical training organisation Forcomed in France and Carestream Health is taking on a new dimension. After training several thousand radiologists in digital mammography on Carestream diagnostic workstations, Forcomed is launching an innovative Internet e-Learning training programme for digital mammography.

Agfa HealthCare has successfully implemented its DX-D 600 Direct Radiography (DR) system at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL), creating a new DR room at the Leigh Infirmary. Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is a major acute trust serving the 318,000 population in the Wigan Borough and surrounding areas.
