EMIS Group has been awarded two more major contracts to provide connected community care for nearly 1 million NHS patients in the north and south of England. Citizens in an ageing European population are at greater risk of cognitive impairment, frailty and social exclusion with considerable negative consequences for their quality of life, that of those who care for them, and for the sustainability of health and care systems. The earlier detection of risks associated with ageing, using ICT approaches, can enable earlier intervention to ameliorate their negative consequences.
Dublin's Temple Street Children's University Hospital (TSCUH) has gone live with Orion Health's Clinical Portal as part of a major ICT transformation that is in accordance with the country's eHealth strategy. For the first time, clinicians can access patient data from a range of critical sources including patient administration system, lab system, radiology, theatre and the emergency department, in a single place, helping them have more time to care for the thousands of children they treat every year.
These guidelines respond to Article 11 (2-b) of the Directive, which defines the need for "guidelines supporting the Member States in developing the interoperability of ePrescriptions". They are intended to be complementary to Commission Implementing Directive 2012/52/EU of 20 December 2012 laying down measures to facilitate the validation of medical prescriptions issued in another Member State (Implementing Directive 2012/52/EU).
