Former HIMSS Directors Join Forces to Launch New-Age PR and Marketing Agency to Support Uptake of IT in Healthcare

Two former directors from the world's foremost, non-for-profit health IT membership organisation, HIMSS Europe, have joined forces to establish a revolutionary creative agency, specifically dedicated to health IT. Stephen Bryant and Sarah Bruce have launched PR, marketing and business acceleration agency, Silver Buck,to address the growing demand by health IT suppliers and healthcare providers for an agency that offers a strong international perspective, highly creative, fully-integrated campaigns and day-to-day PR and marketing support to ensure that their offering are better understood by health and care providers.

The health IT market in Western Europe alone is forecast to grow to £10.7 billion in 2021 with the NHS in the UK making up for over a third of that. Upon its launch Silver Buck has already started working with some of the most prolific health IT suppliers in the world, as well as leading innovative campaigns for NHS organisations.

Bruce said: "We've identified a significant gap in our industry for a specialist health IT agency that can move with ever changing PR and marketing landscape. We've already started working with some of our industry's best-known organisations but with a new health IT start-up created every day and increasing interest form overseas, Silver Buck is also keen to ensure that smaller, innovative companies and those who are established internationally have a strong route to market and get the chance they deserve to make a difference in the healthcare industry."

The agency has already appointed Jon Hoeksma, CEO of Digital Health and Richard Corbridge, chief digital information officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as the first of its Silver Buccaneers - a group of highly prolific individuals renowned for their expertise and entrepreneurial approaches to health IT.

Corbridge said: "Promoting understanding is one of the first stages to adopting what digital in healthcare can bring to the delivery of safe and efficient health systems. Finding creative and innovative approaches is instrumental in how we can promote what is still a mystical word, 'digital health'.

"Many digital leaders across the NHS feel like the stars have aligned in recent months and that for the first time in a decade the opportunity to bring digital to the fore is here Silver Buck is another star aligning that will assist health care leaders, new innovations and the established digital health companies come together to understand and ensure the whole system understands what we are here to deliver."

Based in London, Silver Buck’s slogan ‘Always evolving approaches for continually changing healthcare' refers to the organisations aims to encourage the public and private sector to think differently about how they are marketing their solutions to improve uptake health IT across health and social care.

Bryant and Bruce both left HIMSS Europe earlier this year.Bryant who formerly managed HIMSS Europe and UK and has almost 30 years of operations, logistics and business acceleration experience, will now be responsible for overseeing the business development based on connecting his extensive networks across Europe and providing clients with unrivalled events management support.

Meanwhile, Bruce, who has a background in digital health journalism, PR and marketing account directing and most recently held the position of Europe's, director of media and marketing and lead on strategic accounts, will largely be responsible for working closely with clients to infuse creativity with meaningful engagements an ensure the fully integrated approach to PR and marketing.

Co-founder and director, Bryant said: "There are huge opportunities in the health IT space currently, as the landscape has never looked so vibrant. Initiatives like GDE's, Digital Academy and STP's show clearly that the NHS is committed to sharing its learnings, failures and successes. We are hugely determined therefore, that by combining our creativity, extensive networks and wealth of experience, we can help companies - whether well-established or fledgling - make their mark during such exciting times."
