Smart Health Europe will take place for the first time at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds from 13 to 15 April 2027. With a mix of trade fair, congress and networking, it brings together decision-makers from business, healthcare, science and research, and politics.

Messe Berlin and the digital association Bitkom are launching Smart Health Europe, a new international event format for digital health.

The kick-off for exhibitor registration for MEDICA 2026 and COMPAMED 2026 in Düsseldorf has taken place, and the booking phase for the leading international trade fairs for the medical technology industry and its supplier sector has begun. This is based on a completely revised thematic structure for the exhibition areas. The aim is to provide even clearer technical orientation and to cluster exhibitor offerings in line with demand and trends. A new study by researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai suggests that artificial intelligence (AI) could help predict which critically ill patients on ventilators are at risk of underfeeding, potentially enabling clinicians to adjust nutrition early and improve patient care. Details of the study were published in the online issue of Nature Communications.

The competition is aimed at young talents from the fields of IT, medicine, health economics and related disciplines who focus on new technologies, concepts or applications in their bachelor's and master's theses.
