Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) sparked a discussion around what the future of health care should look like at TEDMED 2012, an annual multi-disciplinary gathering where leaders of all sectors of society come together to explore the promise of technology and human achievement in health and medicine. 
The new roll-out marks the continuation of a partnership between Vodafone and SMURD (Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication) which began seven years ago when Vodafone developed the first European telemedicine solution with national coverage. Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) announced the appointment of Deborah DiSanzo as Chief Executive Officer of Philips Healthcare and member of its Executive Committee, with effect from May 1, 2012. Mrs. DiSanzo will succeed Steve Rusckowski, who will leave the company per April 30, 2012. 
As previously reported, CSC (NYSE: CSC) and the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) have been in discussions on the way forward to redefining the contractual relationship between CSC and the NHS. As a result of these discussions, CSC and the NHS entered into a non-binding letter of intent on March 2, 2012. University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), Utrecht University, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and Philips today announced their intention to share their knowledge, expertise and capacity for innovation to research and develop new methods for disease diagnosis and treatment based on medical imaging.
