Agfa HealthCare's revenue decreased by 10.5 percent. On a currency comparable basis, the decrease amounted to 6.4 percent. A major adverse element was the economic weakness in most of the emerging markets. This particularly affected sales of the Imaging segment's traditional film products. In the segment's digital radiography business (consisting of Computed Radiography, Direct Radiography and the hardcopy business), the DR product range posted very strong sales growth. 
Apple® has released its iOS 8 SDK, the biggest developer release ever with more than 4,000 new APIs, giving developers the ability to create amazing new apps like never before. iOS 8 allows developers to further customize the user experience with major extensibility features like Notification Center widgets and third-party keyboards; and introduces robust frameworks such as HealthKit and HomeKit. 
Good information governance will become increasingly crucial for hospital Trusts. Patient data should always be held under a 'Lock and Key' system where the key is only available to the right person. Healthcare specific IT solutions exist to manage and provision access to data in a manner that provides strong authentication capabilities and auditing features.
