Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST), a new 670-bed hospital in the Dutch city of Enschede, has chosen Ascom Unite as its communication platform. The Ascom Unite solution integrates and centrally manages a range of the hospital’s vital information and communications systems such as nurse call and critical alarms. 
IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Siemens Healthineers have announced a five year, global strategic alliance in Population Health Management (PHM). The alliance aims to help hospitals, health systems, integrated delivery networks, and other providers deliver value-based care to patients with complex, chronic and costly conditions such as heart disease and cancer. 
NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS), a leading provider of business support services to the NHS, has secured three-year contracts with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As part of the contract, the current payroll and pensions services have been migrated to the NHS SBS Southampton Centre of Excellence and went live on 3rd October. 
The Healthcare Information and Management System (HIMSS) and Elsevier, a world leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, have launched the HIMSS-Elsevier Digital Healthcare Award in Europe. The award recognises outstanding achievements in the usage of information and technology to successfully advance patient care and safety. Nominations for the category on 'Outstanding ICT Achievement Award' are now open to all public and private healthcare providers based in Europe.

This is one of the findings of the first global curiosity study from Merck, a leading science and technology company. The study examines the curiosity index of workers in four dimensions. 
The Philips Foundation, CurArte Foundation and Hospital Vall d'Hebrón today announced 'Imatgina', an advanced patient-centric initiative in paediatric radiology that aims to improve the experience children have during diagnostic imaging tests. The goal of the initiative is to enhance the experience for these children by creating a friendly atmosphere that dispels the uncertainty and fear usually associated with these types of procedures. 
Carestream has been awarded a RIS solution for two sites in the Region Capital of Denmark. The CARESTREAM Vue RIS solution will replace existing systems at Rigshospitalet, the National University Hospital, based in Blegdamsvej and Glostrup, part of Greater Copenhagen, to enhance radiology workflow. Installation is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. The 1361-bed hospital carries out around 330,000 exams each year.
