AP-HP Hospital Tenon, Paris, Reduces X-ray Dosage by 50% with Carestream Mobile Digital Radiography System

Installation of a CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray System has led to a 50% reduction in X-ray dosage at the 564-bed University Hospital Tenon, Paris, which is part of the public health system APHP. Figures have been validated by a member of the Personnes Compétentes en Radioprotection (PCR), a nationwide network of Radiation Protection Officers.

EU and Industry Join Forces to Invest €22 Billion in Research and Innovation

The European Commission, EU Member States and European industry will invest more than €22 billion over the next seven years in innovation for sectors that deliver high quality jobs. Most of the investment will go to five public-private partnerships in innovative medicines, aeronautics, bio-based industries, fuel cells and hydrogen, and electronics. These research partnerships will boost the competitiveness of EU industry in sectors that already provide more than 4 million jobs.

Commission Proposal for a Renewed Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP)

The European Commission has proposed a follow up to the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP) for 2014 - 2020, to continue the success of the present programme in applied research for ageing well with ICT. The aim of the AAL JP is to support industry, in particular SME to bring digital innovative products and services for ageing well to the European market. Alignment with the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP AHA) could further boost deployment at European scale.
