The European Council adopted a common position on the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) at a Competitiveness Council meeting, held on 25 September in Brussels. Agreement on FP7 should now be reached under the co-decision procedure, assuming the European Parliament responds positively in its second reading. 
eHealth information systems today are proprietary and often only serve one specific department within a healthcare facility. It means it is impossible to easily share data across one facility, never mind trying to share data across different facilities, or different countries. CORDIS has updated its Towards FP7 Service, a gateway to information on the preparation of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The service now includes even more information on this upcoming programme for research and technological development. 
ICMCC announces the first internet portal on information on access to electronic health records. Portal represents the result of a group being set up to raise awareness of patient record access nationally and internationally.
