Development scenarios for a European infrastructure in high-performance computing

The European Commission's Information Society and Media DG has launched a call for tenders for development scenarios for a European infrastructure in high-performance computing (HPC).

The study should explore and assess if and how the needs for an HPC type of infrastructure can be covered by an EU funding scheme, as well as possible options to coordinate and fund it at the EU level. Notably, it should take into account that experience gained and lessons learned from deployments in this field should be transferred not only to research in computational science, but also to strengthen European industry (manufacturers, software developers and potential HPC service providers).
