iSOFT Signs New Deal with Dutch Care Group

iSOFT Group LimitediSOFT Group Limited (ASX;ISF) has announced a three-year contract with Dutch care group Zorggroep Noorderbreedte (ZNB) to further develop its hospital information system and electronic patient record at the Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden (MCL), a large teaching hospital in the Netherlands.

Under the new deal, iSOFT will continue to support existing systems but also program manage the development of replacement solutions based on the Lorenzo architecture, and other projects to improve the IT available to clinical staff and others within the hospital.

A long-standing customer, ZNB also has the option to select from a range of iSOFT solutions, including resource scheduling applications from UltraGenda, the Belgium-based company acquired by iSOFT in February. Enterprise-wide, multi-resource scheduling will enable ZNB to schedule and manage appointments and resources to improve efficiencies across multiple sites.

iSOFT will work with ZNB and MCL to significantly improve workflows and processes with new technology. The move fits with the group's plans for innovative IT solutions to improve medical decisions and so increase patient safety and patient satisfaction.

The contract is worth €3.45 million over three years.

Zorggroep Noorderbreedte is a foundation formed in January 2008. It owns Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden as well as care centres and home care businesses.
