iSOFT Offers Healthcare Single Sign-on Solutions after Agreement with Sentillion

iSOFTIBA Health Group company iSOFT has today signed an agreement with US-based Sentillion to become its first healthcare channel partner in Europe for its single sign-on (SSO), context management, and user provisioning solutions. The move coincides with the launch of Sentillion's UK Channel Partner Program and enables iSOFT to become the first partner to offer its customers the market-leading Vergence SSO/context management suite and Sentillion's next-generation SSO solution, expreSSO™, which are all developed exclusively for healthcare.

With Sentillion's SSO/context management solutions, users can quickly authenticate and switch between iSOFT and other clinical applications while retaining patient context. The software also provides fast access and added security and is scalable so it can be installed on a departmental or enterprise-wide basis.

Sentillion's applications are already proven in the UK at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, and City Hospital Sunderland, and proven worldwide at another 560 hospitals.

The affordable, 'plug-and-go' expreSSO supports NHS Smartcards to swiftly authenticate to local and national applications. It also speeds the implementation of a trust-wide single sign-on solution. With expreSSO, Sentillion has streamlined the once complex process of introducing single sign-on solutions through innovative technology reducing implementation times to days.

Paul Richards, managing director of iSOFT UK and Ireland, said: "Sentillion created SSO for healthcare and for ten years has been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions for identity and access management. Its solutions are proven, are the most widely-used in healthcare, and were recently endorsed by Gartner.

"Our partnership with Sentillion via its Channel Partner Program allows our customers to benefit from the industry's most comprehensive set of solutions for single sign-on and context management," Richards said. "These solutions manage single sign-on across multiple applications and allow users to easily switch between applications seamlessly while retaining patient context. Compatibility with NHS Smartcards also speeds access and retrieval of data. We are pleased to be working with Sentillion to offer this wide range of solutions to our customers today.

"iSOFT's renowned expertise in clinical systems wonderfully compliments Sentillion's pedigree in delivering world-class identity and access management solutions to healthcare," said Paul Roscoe, president of Sentillion. "Both iSOFT and Sentillion entered into this partnership with a singular focus of helping healthcare organisations maximise their investments in clinical information systems by providing the technology needed to improve clinician workflow while improving security audit-ability and compliance."

Paul Malcolm, UK General Manager for Sentillion, said: "One of the first steps we are taking is a joint collaboration on the creation of a UK demo centre which will showcase Sentillion solutions in operation with iSOFT's applications. Our goal is to create a convenient way for iSOFT's customers to experience and understand the value of these products."

Earlier this year, Sentillion was ranked for the first time in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Single Sign-On because of its significance to the healthcare industry. "Sentillion's strong presence brought it to our attention," Gartner said. The company was evaluated on its ability to execute and completeness of vision including its products, overall viability, pricing, market responsiveness and track record, and customer experience.
