Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital Selects uPerform to Provide in-Application Training for their EHR

uPerform®The Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) based in Tilburg and Waalwijk in the Netherlands is adopting a new digital training platform. It helps clinical staff optimize the use of its electronic patient dossier (EPD) system, Epic®. The healthcare organization is rolling out ANCILE Solutions’ uPerform platform after successful completion of an initial project in 2020.

ETZ is a leading clinical training hospital and trauma center that provides acute care to residents of the Central Brabant region and beyond. As one of the largest hospitals in the NetheAnrlands with more than 6,500 employees, ETZ was looking for an innovative training method to more effectively train healthcare personnel in the use of the EPD. In 2020, the organization presented a new vision for its clinical education program: a hybrid approach that provides on-the-job assistance that addresses different learning styles and preferences. In December 2020, ETZ chose uPerform as its digital training platform to provide its entire clinical staff with on-demand training and ongoing support for its Epic EHR system.

Judith van Gerven Biermann, coordinator of the EPD Academy, says: "We see incredible benefits in using uPerform. It fits in seamlessly with the vision that we have at EPD Academy (and the overall 'Learning House'), which is based on hybrid learning. Everyone learns in his or her own way and must be able to choose from several options to take in the offered subject matter. Workplace learning is one of our main pillars. We therefore see great advantages in uPerform’s in-application help. We believe that our healthcare professionals can work more safely, faster and more pleasantly with this support. Help is only one click away. We hope that this will also reduce the burden on our EHR coaches, service desk and application experts."

"We saw that the creation of e-learning and tip sheets is extremely quick and easy, which is a big advantage compared to the previous way of creating content."

ETZ is the first European healthcare institution to join 20 leading hospital systems already using uPerform in the United States. "We are honored to be trusted by ETZ to support its digital learning programme and look forward to working closely together for years to come," said Harm Mescher, Vice President EMEA / APJ at ANCILE Solutions. "This project was our first step in introducing uPerform’s proven success and benefits to health systems across Europe".

uPerform empowers health and care providers to take their digital maturity to the next level by providing clinicians with fast and simple access to higher quality EHR educational materials within the workflow, increasing user proficiency and satisfaction. Role-based, in-application learning at the point of care improves onboarding, reduces the time spent in the EHR system by reinforcing training, and decreases time spent in training so clinicians can spend more time on what matters most - their patients. Education teams benefit from a full learning content development, management, and distribution platform that increases operational efficiency and reduces training costs.
