CGM Poland Commissioned for Nation-Wide Electronic Patient Record

CompuGroup MedicalPoland is revolutionizing its healthcare system. All citizens will be able to see and maintain their personal medical data electronically. Using modern IT, all healthcare providers can use and maintain the same data together. CompuGroup Medical participated in realizing this nation-wide healthcare project.

Poland will implement a comprehensive web-based electronic patient record (EPR). The Polish government is investing millions of Euros in the project to improve patient healthcare. With all data centrally available, the treating physicians can quickly access any previous findings and current treatment options. This knowledge allows them to offer targeted treatment, which avoids unnecessary costs for the healthcare system as well as medical risks i.e. undesirable drug interactions.

"We are shaping up projects in several other European countries, such as, the implementation of pilot projects regarding ELGA in Austria. Our knowledge and especially our previous experience were recognized when selecting a partner. This project sets the course for the future and will simplify and improve the healthcare for all Polish citizens," rejoiced Frank Gotthardt, CEO of CompuGroup Medical AG.

In the first stage, CompuGroup Medical will provide an electronic patient record in cooperation with several international IT companies. Physicians in both practices and hospitals can transfer data from their system to the central file and back with only a few simple clicks. Later, pharmacies, laboratories, insurances and other participants will follow suit.
