New Agreement with Dutch Business Partner Leads to Increased Sales of DRX Portfolio

CarestreamThe appointment in 2012 of Tromp Medical as distributor of Carestream Digital Capture Products across The Netherlands has led to an explosion in sales of Carestream's DRX-portfolio of digital radiography solutions. Over the past six months Tromp Medical has secured sales of 26 CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray Systems, 7 CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kits, 2 CARESTREAM DRX-Ascend Systems and 5 of the new smaller format CARESTREAM DRX 2530C Detector for paediatric X-ray imaging.

The Maxima Medical Centre in Veldhoven, The Netherlands, has ordered 3 CARESTREAM DRX-Revolutions and 1DRX 2530C Detector. "We were looking to replace our old mobile X-ray units and after serious market evaluation chose the DRX-Revolution," said Jef Pluijmen, Manager of the X-ray and Nuclear Medicine Department at the hospital. "We appreciated the totally new concept of sharing detectors and also the fact that the design and functionality was heavily influenced by customer input."

Being able to undertake paediatric imaging within incubator trays using a wireless detector for a more efficient workflow was an important purchase factor. The new cesium iodide DRX 2530 detector is designed to offer high efficiency for dose sensitive exams, offering higher DQE (detective quantum efficiency), which can lead to lower dose requirements than CR cassettes or gadolinium scintillator detectors.

"Tromp Medical is a dynamic, innovative and customer focused organisation with a strong track record of success," said Marcel Toering, Business Partner Manager for Carestream in The Netherlands. "This partnership successfully contributes to the growth strategy of both companies, enabling easier access for our Netherlands customers to our revolutionary DRX technology."

Menno Wink, Commercial Director of Tromp Medical also endorsed the new collaboration. "We are very happy that our partnership with Carestream Health has proven to be a success. The flexibility of both the products and the company provide us with the tools to optimally fulfill the needs of our mutual customers."

Carestream's family of DRX-based systems help streamline workflow, improve productivity and enhance patient care in both in-room and mobile environments. Carestream's DRX-based portfolio includes the CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-Ray System, CARESTREAM DRX-1 System, CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit kit, CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution suite, CARESTREAM DRX-Transportable System and the CARESTREAM DRX-Ascend System.

Carestream's DRX detectors work with existing X-ray equipment and can easily be moved to any DRX room or mobile DRX system, a feature referred to as the "X-Factor." Healthcare providers can also move the detectors to new imaging systems when existing X-ray systems become outdated.
